Angela's Fitness Journey (BTC 7)

Why did you join the RISE Method?

I joined the Rise challenge a few times but pulled out each time due to lack of motivation and being in a very dark place mentally.

2023 I was diagnosed with PTSD and it sucked the life out of me, it felt like I was at the bottom of the barrel and unable to get back up and I have never had PTSD before and would never wish it on anyone and I gained a good amount of weight and had no drive to lose it, it felt like my mind and body had been hijacked by this PTSD.

I sought out treatment but a holistic approach is what I wanted, I have spent over 1.5 years ridding myself of this PTSD holistically with the help of Kinesiology and Sound Healing and I can say I am at the tail end of my PTSD I am feeling myself again, happy, full of energy and I have been able to get back into my training! And the depression is not there anymore, it has been a long slow road but here I am and I am back, the last time I was myself was mid 2022 and soon after that I started to hit rock bottom.

The challenge has helped kick start my journey to getting my fit healthy self back again, I helped myself on the mental side of things but the Rise Method has helped me get my health and fitness back on track.

What do you like about the program?

All of it! The plans are simple to follow and the variety of exercises are amazing, the support you get is amazing and it is very affordable.

What was your biggest win?

To get my health and fitness back on track, the past couple of years I have not been able to, it did not matter how hard I tried when you have PTSD it sucks everything out of you, you don't want to do anything, so I am proud of myself for how far I have come.

What was your biggest challenge?

Getting back into exercising and getting the momentum going again, the first week or two is hard but once the momentum has started it gets easier.

What would you say to someone who was about to start their fitness journey?

It's a marathon, not a sprint and take it one day at a time, plan your workouts and although I was in a calorie deficit I still ate foods I enjoyed, make your journey enjoyable.
